SAT Import for Rhino

By default, Rhinoceros (Rhino) cannot natively import ACIS .sat files. While Rhino natively supports exporting .sat geometry, you will need a third-party plugin or an intermediary conversion process to bring a .sat file into your Rhino workspace. 🔌 Third-Party Plugins (Direct Import)

If you work with .sat files frequently, you can buy or use specialized commercial plugins to add direct import capabilities into Rhino:

Datakit ACIS 3D to Rhino Plugin: This is the most popular dedicated converter. It seamlessly imports parts and assemblies (.sat, .sab, *.asat) and converts the ACIS assembly tree directly into Rhino layers.

CAD Exchanger: Another commercial data translation tool that allows you to easily convert and adjust configurations when moving files from SAT format to Rhino .3dm. 🔄 Free Intermediary Workarounds

If you only need to import a .sat file as a one-off task, you can pass the file through free software or other CAD tools you may already own: Importing SAT files – Rhino for Windows – McNeel Forum
